First time in the history of the Roman Catholic Church, the iPhone is used as a device for confession. Is this going to remove the old tradition of the Vatican?

Along the development technology, the Vatican has approved an application called ‘Confessions: A Roman Catholic App’ which now has been in the App Store for USD 1.99.

When using this application, Catholics can choose list of sins that exist in the application, or add it yourself. Like the sacrament of sin confession in general, Catholics can choose penitence – penalty of sin in the form of prayer- thereafter.

Mozilla released the final beta version for Firefox 4, their latest Internet browser, before releasing the final version. Several improvements have been made including full support WebGL standards-based three-dimensional (3D) graphic.

“Firefox 4 beta now supports WebGL for modern built-in graphics card which is common in use. This makes the developers more easily create interactive 3D games, sharp graphics, and a new visual experience on the Web without depending on third party plug-ins,” said Mike Beltzner, Firefox Product Manager, in his blog, yesterday. One of the biggest news in the open source world in 2010 was the separation of OpenOffice developers from their big boss, Oracle, and formed their own group named The Document Foundation (TDF).

TDF has been supported by various parties such as Google, Canonical, the Free Software Foundation, the Open Source Initiative, Novell, Red Hat and many more.

By separating themselves from Oracle, TDF make their own office suite named LibreOffice. TDF was originally planned to use OpenOffice name if allowed. Unfortunately Oracle refused invitation to join TDF, including refused to give permission using OpenOffice name.

Microsoft at the LeWeb event yesterday was demonstrating a new way to gather information on the web in an attractive display. This application called Montage constitutes the information from the web to be displayed like a magazine on the tablet or screen.

Turkish Engineers Develop Online Data Leak Prevention Software

A group of engineers working in companies engaged in the Middle East Technical University‘s (ODTÜ) Teknokent (Techno City) has developed a software that offers complete protection against online data leaks, as did by WikiLeaks site, which is less than two weeks ago shook the world, especially the United States.

The software called MyDLP, produced by young engineers from Turkey Medra Technology and Medra Communications based in Ankara, was able to prevent leakage from the source and immediately warn the authorities, if any person attempts to transfer data from online communication system and information storage.
